Dr. Eckardt is Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and its Subspecialty Board of Medical Oncology. He joined the practice in 1995 after work at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center at University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in the development of new anticancer agents. Dr. Eckardt worked on the early development of many of the widely used new cancer treatments available today. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association of Cancer Research. Dr. Eckardt is widely published, has contributed to the development of many medical text books, and has submitted and presented manuscripts on Oncology and Cancer Research throughout the world.
