Julia E. Kimmis, RN,BC,FNP-C,AOCN, nurse-practitioner for The Center for Cancer Care and Research, earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Barnes College of Nursing at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. She is a certified family nurse practitioner with the AANP, ANCC, and ONCC, PICC Line Certified and Chemotherapy Certified. She joined the practice in 1994 as staff nurse and also worked as a research nurse. She previously worked in labor and delivery, and in home health both as a nurse and as associate director of professional services and case manager. She holds memberships in several professional groups, including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American College of Nurse Practitioners, the Oncology Nurses Society, the American Nurses Association and the Washington Area Advanced Practice Nurses.
